The cat eye is a beauty staple, and has been for decades. It’s made quite the resurgence in recent years, despite the fact that it can be a notoriously difficult look to truly master. I don’t know about you, but trying to free-hand a winged liner look has often meant that I end up looking a little cross-eyed: my wings are on different angles, one is thicker than the other, longer than the other, and having to take the heavy makeup off to start over leaves my lids looking red and irritated. Fortunately, there is a myriad of products available to make the entire process a whole lot easier.
This stamp takes the guesswork out of creating a winged eyeliner look. With three sizes to choose from (small, medium, and large) based on the size of your eye, all you have to do is press the silicone stamp head into your favorite pot of gel eyeliner and press it to your eyelid. The stamp works well, but don’t expect it to be the one-step process it claims to be: you’ll need to fill in little gaps in the eyeliner with a thin brush, but that’s not a big deal since the finished product will be perfectly-shaped cat eyes.
These sticky stencils are easy to use and save time on clean-up. They gently adhere to your eyelid and all you have to do is fill in the empty space with your favorite eyeliner in any color. You can use a traditional black eye shadow or gel, or you can go glam and use something with some sparkle. The possibilities are endless with these stencils. The only tricky thing about them is getting them positioned correctly in the first place. But once you do, they’re total life-savers.
If you are halfway decent at free-handing your winged liner, then this tool might be all you need to reach cat eye perfection. The angled tip on this applicator makes the line super easy to draw on: it is flat and wide and allows you to get right up to the lash line. This waterproof gel liner is available in four different colors and is completely paraben-free.
These appliques give you perfect cat eyes in literal seconds: just peel, stick, and go! To apply, ensure that your eyes are free of any moisturizers, remove the desired shape from the stencil, and apply over a primer or powdered makeup. You can also cut the applique to fit your specific eye shape, and it will last up to 16 hours.
This product is great for when your winged liner is almost perfect, but not quite. It allows you to make tiny, controlled edits to your look without compromising the overall shape of the line. Infused with Cucumber, Chamomile, and Vitamin E, this pen is easy on the sensitive skin around your eyes.
